The first thing you notice is the sinuous pillars, inspired by the solomon columns in St. Peter's in Rome. This bed has the typical top of a four-poster bed, being covered in a fine cloth. There is documentary evidence that this design began between the end of the seventeenth and the early eighteenth centuries.
